The MediRead App
THE MEDIREAD APP IS AVAILABLE AS A FREE DOWNLOAD
The MediRead bracelet works in conjunction with the free MediRead app, which allows vital medical information to be stored onto your bracelet and easily accessed by medical staff and first responders in emergency situations.
The app provides an intuitive interface that allows you to enter the wearer’s details in a matter of minutes. This information is then written onto the bracelet by tapping with the phone and holding for 2-3 seconds. The phone does not need to be connected to the internet for this to work as the data is stored on the bracelet itself. There is no user registration involved and the only access the app requires is to the phone’s NFC capability.
A read-only version of the app is also available that enables users of iPhone 7 and up to access the information.
The MediRead app also provides other features of use to the wearer of the bracelet.
NON-EMERGENCY USES
MEDICATION REMINDERS
The MediRead app provides a reminders function that brings up notifications, optionally with an audible alarm, at appropriate times, reminding the user of the medications to be taken at that point. The user can then tick these off, upon which a simple log is maintained of the last time each medicine was taken. This can be of use to carers and/or doctors or family members wishing to monitor adherence to medication schedules. The reminders can also be set on a carer’s phone to ensure the wearer does not simply ignore them.
EMAIL FUNCTION
If the need arises, you can email all the details of your medications and allergies with the touch of a button to a doctor, family member, pharmacist or carer, thus saving significant time and eliminating errors.

FOR PARAMEDICS AND DOCTORS
PARAMEDICS
Downloading the MediRead app will give you easy, instant access to your patient’s medical details. It’s free, could save precious time and may help save a life.
The data is not held online and there is no number to call or website to go onto. If desired, you could also avail of the email facility to forewarn medical staff at hospitals of the details of the patient you are attending to.
DOCTORS AND/OR CARERS
The MediRead app could save significant time when seeing new patients or when making home visits. Downloading the app will enable easy and immediate access to their medication details. This could also be of great use when the patient has any language barrier that prevents effective communication of their details.
